Change

Just sitting at my desk looking out the window. The sun comes out. The clouds come over the sun and cover the sun's rays. Then the wind comes and blows the clouds away. Nothing is permanent in this world. Then why are we so scared of change? Us humans are very comfortable in our cozy environments.

A change of job, a new apartment, some new furniture in our house. Somethings need to be changed. At times, I'm scared of change too. And I admit I'm not sure how would I adjust to change if I had to. At times it seems to me my heart is here, my mind is elsewhere and the body knows nothing about there whereabouts.

Since today morning I've been noticing the sun play hide and seek with the clouds from my window. And I sit here and think, why is it so hard to be grown up? Why is it hard to be where we are? Why aren't humans happy with what they have?

For one thing, we are scared of change, and for the other, we are never happy in our present circumstance. We always want something better than what we have. A bigger car, an earring a little bigger than the old one, a house with maybe one more room that the present one. A faster laptop, a faster net connection, a newer microwave, or maybe a newer mobile.

But then, why are we so afraid of change? Is it that bad?

Some questions I guess will never be answered, only debated.

  5. if we constantly want to have better things in life, we get accustomed to the changes those better things bring with them. but that's about things.

a lot of us are not afraid of change, we are just lazy to get out of our comfort zone... because we are so happy and used to it. once a change is forced, we crib in the beginning and slowly, with time, we get used to it too and that becomes our new comfort zone..

change is inevitable and change helps us grow, change helps us enjoy life more...and sometimes the only thing we need to be happy is a change.

and we all love it when we have enough 'change' in our wallets too.

change is mostly good and fun ☺

ok lets change the topic already.

    So true....
Well, like all other things..change has its pros and cons. But these days I have seen that there is some air of negativity everywhere...maybe because of so much work load etc etc. So even if the change might be good, there is a tendency to view it skeptically.

  7. Hmmm... I think I'm averse to change too. But just last evening, I was thinking, we must all just go with the flow of things, you know... work, life, everything... maybe we should stop resisting change and planning so much, and just enjoy each moment as it lasts, and even as it changes, perhaps.

  8. Guess we are more scared about how we'll cope with this change than the change in itself! But then, some changes are good and some are bad -- only time can tell. You've got to admit that these changes only make life interesting, else it would be such a bore! :|

  9. yeah very true.. this question can never be answered. but personally i feel change is good .. I say that But I have myself not done it .. still in same job.. :) i guess its the fear or the WHAT IF.. factor whcih stops us from the change..

even though experience and history shows us that change has done more good then harm but still we are afraid .. rightly said

  10. Change isn't bad, it's just inconvenient most of the times.......a lot of people love change, a lot like it just the way it is.

  11. Hi Tbg...
Change is scary...ask me how I dreaded it!
But then after the initial unsettling...one eventually settles and then the changed scenario becomes the way to be...

The only way to combat fear of change is to make arrangements to handle the new the way you’d like it to be!
And anything new is always an ‘on the job training’ experience!
Hope u excel in all u take up like u always do!
    :-)
